Philosophy of AI
What kind of thing is a system that produces plausible text; what happens to concepts like knowledge, creativity, agency or responsibility when they are applied to one; what is gained and what stops being visible when the matter is described in one vocabulary rather than another. This chapter gathers the conceptual arguments that belong to no sector in particular and that, even so, are worth raising first so the rest don’t end up floating.
It includes a reviews section: long readings of books worth arguing with whole, instead of quoting one sentence at a time.
