guIA is not the only attempt to think about AI from the Global South without falling into either enthusiasm or rejection. Here are others, chosen by one criterion: they look at the technology critically and, at the same time, bet that its sovereign and conscious use can be emancipatory. The selection is short and growing.

• Descifrando la IA (Hijas de Internet) — An educational wiki with a companion podcast, made by a Latin American collective. It covers the technical foundations, algorithmic bias, environmental impact and the future of work, and proposes a framework for responsible use (the “4Ds”: Delegation, Description, Discernment, Diligence).
